This food pantry and service organization is supported entirely by volunteers and donations. Participation opportunities available through Resurrection include:
* Meal-A-Month: Yellow bags are distributed on the second Sunday of each month. LCR members are encouraged to fill the bags with food and return them within the month. * Walking in the annual Manna March.
* Adopt-A-Family: Individuals and small groups provide special help at Christmas with food baskets through the Adopt-A-Family project. * The Bridge of Hope project is a volunteer opportunity for Resurrection Members to show their support of Feed My People by providing hands on repairs to the organizations facilities. * Other Volunteer opportunities: Assist in the thrift store or with other assignments related to food gathering or distribution. Bridge of Hope is a grass-roots project introduced by five area churches in support of this very dynamic ministry. FMP uses nearly all donations for its clients. This leaves little for capital improvements.
Two Saturday mornings during the year are set-aside as special workdays to accomplish a list of necessary improvements to keep Feed My People in serviceable order. Show your support for Feed My People (as well as John and Carol) by serving at their events.
Goals:
1. Elevate awareness of Feed My People's critical purpose in the community. 2. Rally support for food, financial donations and volunteers for FMP. 3. Provide incremental improvements to the FMP thrift stores, office areas and property so that it presents a favorable impression to clients. 4. Share the hope of Christ with clients and community through outreach emphasis and occasional community events. |
